The return of the classic action RPG: Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance returns 20 years later to current systems

The return of the classic action RPG

This one we did not see coming. The return of the classics is always a reason for celebration and more if they have given us so many hours of fun. Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and Nintendo Switch in an unexpected way.

A new release for the title, which Interplay and Wizards of the Coast have confirmed. Best of all, what makes us most happy is that there will be practically nothing to expect. The work will be available from May 7, that is, tomorrow. Take a look at the new trailer.

It will only be available in digital format in the corresponding online stores, for 29.99 euros. Of course, it is essential to consider the characteristics of this new arrival since we are not talking about a remake or remaster.

That is, what we will find will be the original Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance, without significant changes. Beyond the support for 4K in Sony and Microsoft machines, the work will be practically the same. On the other hand, the local cooperative mode for two players returns. Users of PC and mobile devices will have to wait since the game will be released later in 2021 on these platforms.

For those who do not know or do not remember, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is an Action RPG title with hack & slash mechanics initially released for PS2 and Xbox in 2001. With the last port for GameCube and Game Boy Advance, the work was developed by Snowblind Studios.

The game is based on the rules of the third edition of Dungeons and Dragons, released the previous year. It was the first game in the Baldur’s Gate series to be released for consoles and not on PC.
