- Samsung’s flagships are always highly anticipated mobile phones, and rumors about them are becoming increasingly anticipated. And although it remains for its supposed launch, we can already talk about everything we think we know about the Samsung Galaxy S21.
They would be the successors of the Samsung Galaxy S20, the Samsung Galaxy S20+, and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, although it is one of the three being seen the most in the halls of rumor, rumor. We tell you in detail.
What price will the Samsung Galaxy S21 have?
For now, there is little filtering of these mobiles, but there is talk of at least 92,999 Indian rupees for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, which would be about 1,027 euros in exchange. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra had a starting price of 1,329 euros, so it is logical to think that it would not stay in that conversion (even if the price for India was that).
The latest leaks have provided some possible more information, already with prices for the models that we will see below. And the idea of a more slashed price S21 Ultra doesn’t seem to last:

What models will there be of Samsung Galaxy S21?
The one that has been talked about the most is the alleged Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, whose model is SM-G998U. There are leaks regarding the base model, the Samsung Galaxy S21, but nothing about an intermediate Samsung Galaxy S21+.
Regarding the colors, the novelty of this year would be purple, although it would not be in all models:
- Samsung Galaxy S21: gray, pink, purple, and white.
- Samsung Galaxy S21+: black, silver, and purple (pink in Korea).
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: black and silver.
By the way, the leaks coincide with this terminology: S21, although it is not ruled out that they end up being the S30. The Galaxy S was correlative in number until it jumped to 20 in the last few (since the Galaxy S10), coinciding with its year of release, so we will have to see what logic Samsung ends up following.
Also, at WinFuture they talked about serial numbers. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra would have the name SM-G998, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus would stay with the SM-G996, and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Lite (SM-G991), without seeing an S21 without a last name at the moment.
What will the design of the Samsung Galaxy S21 be like?
The number (and apparent reliability in some cases, due to precedents) of leaks about the design of the S21 is overwhelming, especially after a video of analysis with what appears to be an original terminal has been leaked. OnLeaks for its part contributed its grain of sand in this regard, showing us the possible intentions of the Korean manufacturer to further what was a striking module in the S20 Ultra.
In their renders, and in those that have occurred subsequently, we see that there was a continuity solution with the module and the very edge of the phone so that it protrudes from three sides and the other is embedded. In addition, in what would the S21 and S21+ models, covers the three cameras but leaves out the flash, in both cases being completely flat and without protrusions for each lens, as we already saw in the predecessors?
In the latest from Evan Blass, we see all the models and colors, noting that in the violet in the S21 and S21+, the module has a different tone. What seems to be maintained is the gloss finish on the back and the hole for the front camera, centered and small. Of course: while in the supposed S21 Ultra we see a curved screen, in what would be the base model we see it flat, unlike the Galaxy S20.
At the base we would continue to see the USB type C alone, without an audio minijack and accompanied by the main speaker. And another aspect that draws attention is that symmetry would be maintained in all frames of the screen, without seeing the chin, and that the lower models could be made of plastic, following in the wake of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Of course, maybe only in the Ultra, because the supposedly official render that Evan Blass has shared shows a larger border.
The construction materials would be metal and glass in the Ultra and the physical buttons are on one side, without seeing a physical fingerprint reader as it is integrated into the screen. The module on the S21+ and base are not as large as the Ultra, but in the latest Let’s Go Digital renders they have recreated a possible design in which they have the same way of merging with the outer edge.
All this coincides with the supposed first photos that have leaked on SamMobile and that would confirm in a way that we would see this new design. And to add fuel to the fire of the leaks, the latest videos that have been obtained by Android Police, are official.
Will the Samsung Galaxy S21 have 5G?
There is no specific information about this, but since all the Galaxy S20 models supported 5G, it is possible to think that the new ones will. It was one of the highlights of the presentation.
Samsung Galaxy S21: all the features we know
We have seen that the design lines would be maintained in broad strokes except for that way of fitting the rear camera module. At the moment there is some leak about the dimensions, according to which the Galaxy S21 Ultra would measure 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9 millimeters. With this, the volume would be traced to that of the S20 Ultra, whose dimensions are 166.9 x76 x 8.8 millimeters.
For the Samsung Galaxy S21, there is talk of 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9 millimeters, thus being close to those we saw for the Galaxy S20 (151.1 x 69.1 x 7.9 millimeters) and leaving room for that there is an intermediate S21+ and above all higher (and with a larger screen).
We already saw screens according to the well-known leaker Ishan Agarwal.
Seeing that Xiaomi has already launched consumer mobiles (not gamers ) with 144 hertz, it would not be ruled out that the first Samsung flagships for 2021 would jump from 120 Hz to 144 Hz, but that is not what the information indicates. For the S21 Ultra, there is talk of maintaining the adaptive refresh rate (from 1 to 120 Hz) and being careful, 1,600 nits of maximum brightness.
The screen of the base S21 will apparently be 6.2 inches and flat, so in terms of size, it would be like that of its direct predecessor. And what stands out from a recent (and large) leak is that both this and the S21+ would be in FullHD+ resolution and a non-adaptive refresh rate, unlike their predecessors (the S21+ with a 6.7-inch panel).
Speaking of the interiors, the S21 Ultra would integrate a 5,000 mAh battery (the same capacity as the S20 Ultra), and Android 11 would be added to One UI, Samsung’s customization layer. The processor has talk of five nanometers and eight cores at a maximum speed of 2.91 GHz.
, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra would have a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED QHD + screen. If so, the diagonal would be less than its direct predecessor, 6.9 inches. And beware, with 1,600 nits of maximum brightness.
In this regard, according to Sammobile, the S21 would follow the scheme of the two versions depending on the processor, seeing what would be the Exynos 2100 for the global one (which is expected to be presented on January 12) and the already presentedSnapdragon 888 for China and the United States, which seems to confirm an FCC leak. In addition, they would go with Android 11 and their own One UI 3.1 software layer.
Agarwal also hinted that we’d see 12GB of RAM on the Ultra with 128GB of storage, and based on the video we cited earlier, the lower ones would have 8GB of RAM. At least that would be one of the available mobile variants, which logically should have another with 16 GB and 512 GB to follow in the wake of the S20 Ultra. But more recently, it was Evan Blass, a well-known leaker with a large number of confirmations, who talks about 256 GB of storage for everyone and the 512 GB option on the Ultra (depending on markets), saying goodbye to microSD support.
They are also expected to have the IP68 certification of resistance to dust and water, stereo speakers, and a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, but this being Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Max (in principle, faster than the current one). Regarding the batteries, at Sammobile, they point to 4,000, 4,800 mAh, and 5,000 mAh for the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, respectively, expecting them to support both 40W fast charging and 10W reverse.
Of course, according to one of the most recent rumors in the Galaxy S21, we would not see a charger in the box or AKG headphones either. A way to follow in Apple’s footsteps with the iPhone 12, although it is rumored that not including headphones would be in favor of including a future version of Samsung Galaxy Buds ‘ wireless headphones.
An important novelty would also be that support for the S Pen was confirmed, Samsung’s pointer that, at least until now, has been one of the characteristics of the Note series. The S21 series could be compatible with the stylus after Samsung has “almost” confirmed that other mobiles beyond the Note will support S Pen. What is also said is that the S Pen will be sold separately, with nothing to integrate into the S21 (which fits with the renders), for a price of 49 dollars.
What will the cameras of the Samsung Galaxy S21 be like?
For now, there is little filtering regarding the composition of the S21 camera module. For the S21 Ultra, there is talk that the main 108-megapixel sensor is maintained and that we would also see a 40-megapixel sensor on the front. In the Ultra, we would also see a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and two telephoto lenses, one with 3x optical zoom (and a 10-megapixel sensor) and the other with 10x optical zoom. It would thus be almost competing face to face with the Huawei P40 Pro+, also with two TVs.
Something that several sources have pointed out, including one of the most recent and large, from Android Police, which also speaks of 130% larger pixels in telephoto lenses and a total zoom of 100x. What has been said for the entire generation is that laser focus will help.
And for the two smaller models, the leaks point to the same camera configuration: 64-megapixel (for the main lens), 12-megapixel (for the ultra-wide), and 10-megapixel (for the telephoto) sensors. Hence it seems that the S21+ loses the ToF sensor compared to its predecessor, having a 3x optical zoom.
As for video resolution, the Galaxy S20 reached 8K recording. For the S21, there is talk of a resolution of 4K at 60 fps HDR10 for the three cameras (not only for the main one as up to now), in addition to adding 30 fps to 8K.

What release date does the Samsung Galaxy S21 have?
Normally Samsung sets a date for the Galaxy S event in February, in what would be the MWC if it is held in 2021 ( as they intend. But this year Unpacked will be in January, specifically on January 14, already talking about the start of manufacturing of the Ultra and models.
We still can’t give Jon Prosser much credibility because he adds the odd bug, but he is part of those who have pointed to that supposed early release date. Prosser gives the supposed exact days and agrees with what Evan has later said, placing the listing on January 29, 2021 :
This coincides with the supposed confirmation of an Indian store that it will start selling on January 14 there, and it would be a rather striking change in Samsung’s strategy, with which it would manage to be one of the first manufacturers of the year to present a top of the range line. For example, last year the first Unpacked (as the brand titles its presentations) was on February 11, normally being that month or March in which they make this consignment known.
