How To Know If You Have Passed The Driving Test

How to know if you have passed the driving test

We will explain how to know if you have passed the driving test and thus be able to sleep peacefully knowing the results. Getting your driver’s license is not a short path. First, you have to learn all the theories and then practice taking a driving test until you start practicing inside the car once this theoretical part is eliminated. There are a lot of nerves that you go through before the final exam, and many more that you go through until the results are given to you.

The good news is that you don’t have to call the driving school to ask every so often because the DGT has a website where you can check the results by entering information about yourself and your exam. In any case, you should know that the time it takes to know the notes can vary, and sometimes you can have them in three days, and other times it can take one or two weeks. So be patient, and check this website from time to time.

You must check the page at least once weekly since the DGT only keeps the results online for 15 days. This means that if after that time has elapsed since the notes are published, you forget to consult it, you will no longer find the results on the page. But this shouldn’t be a problem because all of us who have taken the exam know that we consult the notes frequently.

How to check driving test scores

First, you must go to the exam marks consultation website, whose URL address is sede.dgt.gob.es/es/permisos-de-conductir/notas-de-examen. On this page, you must click on the option If certified to access the online consultation of the grades. You also have the In-person option to find out how you can go in person to consult it, although it is not usually necessary.

This will take you to a page where you must enter your exam details and click Search. As for the data, these are the four fields that you will have to fill in to know your grade:

  • NIF/NIE: This is your DNI number to identify yourself as a person and know who the notes you want to consult are about.
  • Test Date: The date the driving test took place. Here, you don’t need to specify the province.
  • Permit Class: The type of license for which you have been tested. The car license is B, the motorcycle license is A, and the rest are for larger vehicles. Here you have the guide to all the permissions.
  • Date of birth: The date you were born to verify your identity.

Once these details have been entered, if they are correct and published, you can access your exam grade. Here, you should know that the notes can be published from 5:00 p.m. the day after you take the exam, but depending on each case and driving school, they may take longer.

Once you have passed the exam, you must wait for the final driving license to arrive. When it arrives, the driving school where you took the exam will provide you with a provisional permit that you can use within Spain for three months. This provisional license to the driving school will take about 15 days to arrive, while the final permit usually arrives a month and a half after passing the exam. If not, you will have to go to the driving school to have it delivered to you.
