Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7 + hit the high end of tablets twice with 5G and 120 Hz panels

Samsung renews its most ambitious tablet, shaking the high-end twice. And it is that from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, the Korean firm goes on to two models that, apart from making a logical leap in hardware to continue having the most powerful components on the market, offer two different versions for those who like large and quality screens for entertainment and productivity. So are the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+.

The foreseeable renewal of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 comes with a surprise: one more family member is located just above it. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, a new model that essentially differs from the standard version on the screen, such as we will disengage next.

Another of the most striking novelties is the compatibility with 5G, the imminent new connectivity standard that promises higher speed and lower latency, two very interesting assets for leisure and work on the Internet.

For the rest, the new, more premium tablets from Asians continue to bet on productivity, mainly thanks to the versatility of their official accessories in the form of an external keyboard and stylus, a powerful proposal at the hardware level, and their customization layer.

Printing panels (especially the one on the Tab S7+)

While in the Tab S6, the panel was 10.5 inches; this new generation opts for a slightly more landscape and thicker version at the cost of going up half an inch more than the standard model. The ambitious Tab S7+ goes up to 12.4 inches diagonally, a notable increase bolstered by the panel technology.

And it is that Samsung reserves the AMOLED for the Plus version, leaving the IPS LCD for the standard one. This differentiation is not seen in other technologies implemented on their screens, such as the HDR10+ mode and landing the “fashionable” refresh rate among the most premium smartphones in the tablet format: both reach the 120 Hz refresh rate.

These two novelties boast a proposal of the most ambitious in entertainment, such as gaming or content consumption, that it is intuited that it can take its toll on the battery. To reinforce this audiovisual experience, we again find four stereo speakers with AKG and Dolby Atmos technology.

An expected renewal in hardware and software with professional potential

Samsung continues to bet on Qualcomm’s most ambitious processors for its best tablets in a renewal in which the Snapdragon 855 of the previous generation is passed to the Snapdragon 865+ and the options of 6 and 8GB of RAM. As for storage space, again, 128GB and 256GB options are expandable via microSDXC card up to 1TB capacity.

Under the hood, there are no differences between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ in hardware, but in the battery, there is a good jump between one and the other. Thus, from the 7,040 mAh of the Tab S6, the Tab S7 goes up to 8,000 mAh, and the great Tab S7+ exceeds 10,000 mAh to compensate for those larger and more ambitious panels. In addition, both have 45W fast charging through their USB Type C 3.1 port, which can also extract video and audio with a Display Port adapter (not included).

An expected renewal in hardware and software with professional potential

In both one and the other, we are going to find Android 10 by default together with Samsung’s One UI 2 customization layer, with its respective services and applications, the functions to squeeze the S-Pen, the potential of these tablets or Samsung DeX, which emulates the experience of a computer, something essential in some tablets that are postulated for professional use due to characteristics and price. Among its apps, the Korean firm wanted to highlight Samsung Notes, which allows you to automatically capture, view and edit ideas on a tablet, phone, or PC.

Another incentive that reinforces the candidacy of these Tab S7 and Tab S7+ as devices for work is their collaboration with Microsoft, an alliance that translates into a greater multiplatform understanding and that will allow, among other things, to be able to use these tablets as a second screen of our Windows desktop computer. But Microsoft is also Xbox, which means playing, specifically on these devices, being able to play anywhere thanks to its features.

More details for leisure and productivity

Samsung has chosen to maintain the photographic proposal of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 in this generation, thus finding ourselves in both models with two rear cameras with a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle main camera and f/2.0 aperture accompanied by a 5 MP wide-angle with aperture f/2.2. For selfies, an 8 MP front sensor and f/2.0 focal aperture.

Although both tablets have a fingerprint reader, while in the standard model, we find it integrated into the side, for the Tab S7+ model, it is located under the screen.

More details for leisure and productivity

The new Tab S7 also takes advantage of the functionality of the improved S Pen of Note 20 (included), more precise, with a latency reduced to 9 ms and the novelty of the gesture function, which would facilitate navigation in everyday tasks such as returning to the start, screenshots, shoot the camera and of course, use it as if it were a pencil. And to save it? They have a space in the back where they can be fixed by magnetization, although it is hidden with the cover (not included).
