As we have already commented, the OPPO Find X2 series has up to four members, which we describe below. First of all, the OPPO Find X2 Pro, one of the best smartphones of this year that has an amazing screen, great cameras, and the power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. The OPPO flagship also has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, QHD + resolution, and 120 Hz refresh, elegant aesthetics, a 4,260 mAh battery, 12 GB of RAM, and four rear cameras led by a 48 main sensor. Megapixels.

On the other hand, is the X2. The standard model hardly presents differences with the Pro version: a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, QHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a practically identical design, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, and 12 GB of RAM. However, here the battery is 4,200 mAh, and a lens is lost since the terminal has a triple rear camera configuration led by, yes, a 48-megapixel main sensor and ‘eliminating’ the square lens type “periscope” From his older brother.

On the next step appears the OPPO Find X2 Neo, the model we are analyzing. Despite having a similar design, here, there are already some differences between the devices (you can see them better in the table above these lines). First of all, the Find X2 Neo has a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen and Full HD + resolution, and in this case, with a 90 Hz refresh rate. In addition, it has a hole in the screen in the upper left corner that houses the front camera, and inside, it shows a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which is accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage; plus a 4,025 mAh battery. As for photography, it has four rear cameras, also led by a 48-megapixel main sensor.

The last member that is part of this series is the OPPO Find X2 Lite, a terminal that, as we said in its analysis, has little or nothing of Lite. The differences with the Find X2 Neo, as you can see, are just a few. A smartphone with a notch shaped like a drop of water, a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen along with Full HD + resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 4,025 mAh battery, and four rear cameras, again with a 48-megapixel main sensor.

The best of the OPPO Find X2 Neo

An elegant and slim design

The Chinese firm is known for taking care of all the details of the design of its devices. On this occasion, the OPPO Find X2 Neo inherits the design of the Pro model, being traditional and elegant at the same time. A device available in Starry Blue and Moonlight Black colors (in Andro4all, we have analyzed the latter model) has a good metallic finish and good glass construction, which makes it feel really good in the hand. With a 92.1% screen ratio, the Find X2 Neo uses an ultra-thin and light-sensitive in-screen fingerprint sensor, which is why the company has managed to reduce the thickness of the fingerprint module from 2.95mm to 0.266mm.

The OPPO Find X2 Neo has a thickness of 7.7mm and a bodyweight of 171g, thus making it the thinnest 5G smartphone in the world. During these weeks, we have been able to verify that it is a light phone in hand and easy to use. Among its features, the Find X2 Neo has a slightly curved 6.5-inch AMOLED screen and has a 90 Hz refresh rate, a hole in the upper left corner that houses the 32-megapixel front camera -which also works well. For facial recognition with an efficient result – and a fingerprint sensor, fast for us.

At the rear, a vertical camera module is seen where the four rear cameras are located and in the upper left corner, protruding a little. In the lower right corner of the back, you can also see the logo of the Chinese company. On the right side of the terminal is the on / off button, which, like the Lite model, has a slight green accent, while on the left side are the controls for raising and lowering the volume. In the upper area, there is a speaker, and in the lower part, there are both the USB Type-C port and another speaker, the main microphone, and the SIM card slot. As with most high-end smartphones, this device does not have a 3.5mm headphone port.

An excellent screen and sound

The OPPO Find X2 Neo stands out for having a screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, which offers a better image experience when browsing the Internet. Unlike the Lite model, this time, we have an excellent 6.5-inch screen slightly curved with FHD + resolution. A panel that, as we have been able to verify during these weeks, is perfectly visible in all light conditions, including when the sun’s rays affect the terminal since the brightness of the smartphone increases up to 800nit by 14% and the maximum brightness up to 1100nit.

The OPPO Find X2 Neo screen performs at a very high level. It offers vibrant colors and very powerful brightness, in addition to a maximum touch sampling rate of 180Hz that allows you to play games with a softer touch, meeting the highest demands in applications. AIn addition, the screen has passed TUV Rheinland Global Eye Protection Certification and HDR10 + Certification . and games.

As for the sound, which is also of a high level, the OPPO Find X2 Neo has double speakers with the largest sound chamber known to date, which provides better volume and stereo effects. At the same time, the Dolby Atmos sound experience offers an immersive audio experience and really good sound quality. Of course, a 3.5 mm headphone output is missing. Despite this, audio is undoubtedly another of the strengths of this device.

Great autonomy, performance, and connectivity

The OPPO Find X2 Neo has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor that allows download speeds of up to 3.7 Gbps and offers good performance. It is the same processor that the Lite model has, but it offers an experience closer to the Pro model of the Find X2 family; it even has 12 GB of RAM. Demanding games do not run the same as on a high-end, but it offers fast loading times, good speed in less demanding games and optimal performance in applications such as social networks or when editing photos.

Regarding autonomy, the OPPO Find X2 Neo has a 4025 mAh large-capacity battery that supports a 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charge, obtaining a safe and continuous high current charge. However, it does not have wireless charging. With the aim that users can use 5G speed with a battery life of 4G, the terminal of the Chinese company adopts a Smart 5G system that controls the consumption of the performance of different applications. Thus, the bandwidth and performance vary intelligently to improve battery life, which reaches in demanding use up to 7 hours of the screen with a day of battery and with the refresh rate at 90 Hz.

The OPPO Find X2 Neo arrives with Android 10 as the operating system and with Color OS as the interface in its 7.0 variant. A customization layer that evolves favorably over time and offers a good design is intuitive and is, above all, highly customizable. There are several options, from dark mode to gestures, among all the news in Android 10.

In general, Color OS is very customizable, being able to change, for example, the icons of the applications so that they look the way that the user likes the most. However, we put it in this section due to the lack of the possibility of choosing between more interface themes, although it is not something that damages the experience of using the terminal. An interface that is not a problem, far from it, but it is a weaker feature compared to other sections.

The OPPO Find X2 Neo is a good mid-range device, which perfectly fulfills its mission and even aspires to more. A premium mid-range terminal with a price closer to the high-end than the average, so you will have complicated things when it comes to carving out a gap between the devices in that range. There is nothing that can be noted as ‘the least good’ of the OPPO smartphone. Still, small features are lacking, such as that it does not have a macro sensor or a 3.5 mm headphone jack, or with a Dual SIM, nor does it incorporate the possibility of inserting a microSD card with which to expand the internal memory of the terminal or FM Radio. However, it should be noted that these absences do not cloud the experience of using the OPPO Find X2 Neo.

So are the cameras of the OPPO Find X2 Neo

The photographic section of the OPPO Find X2 Neo is made up of a total of five cameras. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel resolution sensor located in a hole in the screen located in the upper left, and that has Artificial Intelligence and an Intelligent Beauty Mode. When taking a photograph, several options are possible thanks to Artificial Intelligence, such as reducing the subject’s face, making a series of retouching, refining the face, enlarging the eyes, reducing the nose or sharpening the chin, among others. . Some options that make taking photos more fun and even help when taking a photo with which to show off on social networks. Some options are added to those available when editing an image with Beauty mode, even whiten the teeth of the subject of an image, remove dark circles or remove blemishes.

In general, the main cameras of the OPPO Find X2 Neo offer good images, with a correct dynamic range, sharpness, quality, and saturation, and with hardly any noise in any situation, even indoors. The images also show a good level of detail, and the interpretation of colors is quite neutral. To improve, in some images with very illuminated areas, the device has not been able to process them well, so an optimal result is not achieved in the image.

The wide-angle sensor maintains a high level of color, but a lack of detail is appreciated. However, it is a characteristic that occurs in the vast majority of current smartphones. For its part, the portrait mode offers high-level image quality, more than in the Lite model, resulting in images with a more natural and better-achieved blur. The OPPO Find X2 Neo also features an Ultra Night Mode with noise reduction that suppresses overexposure of lights and improves detail in shadows and brightness. As for the video, the device offers high-quality videos with its rear camera, but its front sensor is not so at the same height.

The OPPO Find X2 Neo is a fairly balanced smartphone, and possibly the most from the Chinese company. It is a premium mid-range smartphone that could perfectly pass for a high-end, although like every device, it has something to improve, such as its front camera that is not up to its rear sensors.

However, it has characteristics that make it a smartphone with high aspirations, such as an elegant and slim design, an excellent screen and sound, and great autonomy, performance, and connectivity, as well as very good rear cameras. Without a doubt, it is one of the best mid-range smartphones today and a device to consider if one does not want to spend a thousand euros on a smartphone.
